Sport Fishing Tecniques

Sport Fishing Techniques ---------------4 Ø spinning
Ø fly fishing
Ø Jigging
Ø Trolling
Spinnig: most of the fishes present in the tuna coast can be targeted with light or heavy spinning gear, we specialize in top water lures like poppers and stick baites. It is the easiest and the most spectacular technique: Many of our guests come to fish exclusively with this technique, mainly for cubera snapper, roosterfish, jacks and tuna.

4 Use: shimano stella 10, 000 spinning reel loaded with 50 and 80 lbs braid line.

Fly Fishing: If weather contitions are good with no wind, fly fishing can be great fun, targeting the same species as with the spinning technique.

4 Used: 10 and 14 fishing rod with floating light.

Jigging: The best for amberjack but also snappers, grouper, tuna, and sharks. This technique allow us to find fish in the deepest places and have good action when spinning top water lures are slow. Our captains will know where to drift on the best jigging spots, live baites and dead baites. From time to time when artificial lures are not efficient, we use dead or live baites generally bonito. This interests a wide range of fishes from roosterfish to sharks.

4 Use: Short jigging rod with stella 20.000 loaded with 80.000 braid line.

Inshore Trolling: between two sessions of spinning or jigging it can be restful to have some light trolling with small Rapalas; most of the inshore species can be caught like this.

4 Use: 30 lbs. Trolling equipment

Offshore Trolling: great action is found ten miles on the new spots we have discovered: submarine volcano and reefs where black/blue marlin, sailfish, wahoo, dorado and tuna can be found...

4 Use: 30 lbs, 50lbs, 80lbs trolling equipment.
